Brittany
Martz wanted a vintage wedding. So when Brad Brenneman asked her five
months ago to marry him, her friends and family became an army of
vintage shoppers to make certain Friday's wedding is Brittany's dream
come true.
"It's
vintage, or antiques. I think it's called shabby chic, but my husband
calls it junk," said Paula Martz, mother of the bride.
The
wedding party found the perfect spot to show off their finds, at the
Johnny Appleseed Farm Park, where the outdoor ceremony will take place
at 5:30 p.m. Friday. The barn there will house the reception, with a
tent for the overflow of 350 guests.A contemporarylamps with unique features.
Inside
that barn, the Martz brigade placed dressers with mirrors, two buffets,
a washing machine, mattress springs with photos hanging from them,
lighted trees, various pieces of furniture, suitcases and a china
cabinet, filled with china.
"My
daughter's house is decorated like this. It's a look she likes. And for
this wedding, she's been on Pinterest for more ideas. We finally told
her to stop looking at that," Paula Martz said.
Helping
to get the perfect look is The Village Green in Wapakoneta, with Master
Gardener Kay Studer bringing the natural flowers front and center.
But
it's Brittany Martz's family and friends who have helped her gather the
items deemed necessary to supplement her own stuff and fill a barn with
the vintage look.
"I've
been up and down I-75 daily, shopping Goodwills and Salvation Armys,"
Paula Martz said. "Also glass bells for the tables, we were searching
for those too. I checked garage sales everywhere. My main thing I was
looking for was china. She wanted various pieces to have a hodgepodge of
china for the table service. I have really good friends who have also
been helping me hunt.these proven front load commercial industrialextractores deliver ease-of-use, The one told me that this was like an adventure.
"We wonder what we're going to do after the wedding," she said, laughing.
All the finds have been stored in the Elida garage of Paula Martz and her husband, Mickey.
"He's happy that after the wedding, he gets his garage back," Paula Martz said. This is the energy production a good handsfreeaccest can reach,
Brittany
Martz and her friends staged the entire reception in the Martz garage.
Once that was deemed suitable, photos were taken of everything,Easily
installed solar mounting systems for drycleaningmachiness and pitched roofs. and friends got their marching orders.
"We
moved everything out of the garage and spent this last week moving it
to the Farm Park barn. Then we gave the photos out to those helping us
decorate, so we could hurry to get just the look we wanted in the barn,"
Paula Martz said.
The
vintage theme will carry over into the ceremony, with Brittany's new
cafe-colored dress having a vintage look. She's also wearing a
100-year-old necklace a friend loaned her.
Bridesmaids
are wearing ivory lace dresses with burlap belts, while the groomsmen
have tan suits with burlap in the pocket. Paula Martz made a burlap
runner with lace for the bride to walk down.
"I wanted to ask the guests to wear something vintage, or to have fun and not be afraid to wear a hat,Our renowned ledparlights allow
you to harness nature’s energy to power your applications. but I got
vetoed on that. Everyone thought that was over the top," Paula Martz
said.
When
the ceremony is over, Brittany Martz found a barn to store her
treasures in, with hopes of renting them to other brides interested in
decorating with that style for their own weddings. Click on their website www.aulaundry.com for more information.
