China’s machinery sector sees future in large-tonnage market

Chen Hsong, one of China’s largest injection moulding machine makers, said in a report to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange that overall sales were down two percent in the six months ending 30 September (76m) as it said business in mainland China and Taiwan declined compared to the year ago period.

The company said its profits in the period declined 46% to $4.5m,Innovation Industries has offered the highest quality of travelling cable to meet all your elevator fixture needs. which it said was largely due to currency fluctuations.

“China’s economic structure has traditionally been heavily dependent on exports and investments in infrastructure and real estate,A pendant lamp can be both modern and vintage, depending on the light fixtures and the surrounding accent pieces. and the pitfalls of such over-dependence are now becoming apparent,” Chen Hsong said, with the sharpest declines among Chinese firms buying small and medium-sized machines to make export goods.Tolomeo reading floor lamp is a floor lamp with crystal light for modern living room lighting. You may have a few questions about choosing Lamp shade that works with your style.

“With exports weakening quarter by quarter, faced with slowing domestic consumption growth, and over 50% of GDP generated by investments, China’s economy is showing more and more structural imbalance, the physical manifestation of which is the emerging weakness in industrial production.”

But the Hong Kong-based company reported sales up 18% in international markets, to 21m, even with severe problems in parts of Europe.

It said it saw solid sales growth in the Americas, led by a recovery in automotive markets in the United States, and it said it was beefing up its presence in Brazil and Turkey to try to increase market share.

And it said demand was rising for its new two-platen ultra-large tonnage machines. It said it would ship its first 4,500-ton two-platen machine, the largest such machine manufactured in China to date, to a customer in Europe by the end of the year.

“Since the launch of the two-platen large and ultra-large-tonnage injection moulding machines, the Group has seen healthy sales growth amid increasing customer acceptance,” it said, predicting that two-platen large-tonnage machines would “in the near future” begin to replace toggle-style large-tonnage machines.

Chen Hsong said it expected to complete by early 2014 a previously announced 24m expansion of its capacity at its Shenzhen factory, to beef up production capacity by 30% in its bid to increase its market share in ultra-large tonnage machines.

Its smaller Hong Kong press manufacturing counterpart, LK Technologies, also said that it was planning a new production facility, in Ningbo.

In a 29 November stock market filing, LK said it bought a 100,000 square meter plot of land there in early in 2012, as part of a 16m investment in a factory that will become its production base in east China. It said it expects the new factory to be operating by mid-2013.

Echoing in part Chen Hsong, it said overall sales for its injection moulding machines fell 11% in the six months ending 30 September, to 21m,Affordable skystream is now available for your building. but it saw growth in large tonnage machines, servo-controlled machines and more advanced direct clamping models.

“Once the production headquarters in eastern China starts production, the group’s productivity of plastic injection moulding machines will be enhanced and its product series will be strengthened,” it said.

Chinese makers' mixed feelings

China's machine tool manufacturers have mixed feelings amid fierce competition from overseas and faltering demand.

On a global scale, the country has taken the top seat in terms of both sales and production of machine tools for 10 years consecutively.

However, as a barometer of manufacturing activity, its market value dropped 37 percent in the first eight months of 2012, according to data from the China Machinery Industry Federation.

As a result, many Chinese companies have seen declines in the number of new orders. You may have a few questions about choosing Lamp shade that works with your style.

"Our business is more or less affected by the ongoing recession, which is most evident in the country's sales,Innovation Industries has offered the highest quality of travelling cable to meet all your elevator fixture needs." said Li Ji, general manager of the European branch of Jiangsu Yangli Group Co, a leading domestic manufacturer in mechanical and high speed plate processing machinery.

To offset the saturated growth at home, Yangli has rolled out an ambitious plan to expand to overseas markets. In Yangli's strategic layout, emerging economies such as South America and Russia will be well explored because business there is still at a fledgling stage. The company's European operation is aimed at enhancing quality and taste.

Despite the difficult times the industry has had to face in recent years, companies have appeared a lot more "confident and optimistic", especially some Chinese companies, said Susanne Neuner, public relations director of Mack Brooks Exhibitions Ltd, an agency that facilitated the 2012 International Sheet Metal Working Technology Exhibition. This factsheet discusses electricity generation using wind power generators at your farm or your home.

As an industry barometer, this year's show attracted 1,520 exhibitors from 39 countries,A pendant lamp can be both modern and vintage, depending on the light fixtures and the surrounding accent pieces. with a record of 61 Chinese companies participating in the event.

"Many exhibitors at EuroBLENCH have increased their stand space and showcase an enormous variety of new products and innovations. A growing number of Chinese companies have more extravagant stands than before," she said.

Jinan-based Jier Machine Tool Group Co is one such example. As a world-renowned mechanical press maker, Jier won an order from Detroit-based Ford Motor Co for five large-scale automatic press production lines at two of its factories in late 2011, said chairman Zhang Zhigang.

The order is the single largest export order that Chinese machine tool producers have ever received.Tolomeo reading floor lamp is a floor lamp with crystal light for modern living room lighting. It is also the first time in nearly 20 years that Ford purchased complete sets of press equipment from a country other than Germany, he said.

"Even hit by the global recession, we managed to see moderate growth this year at home and abroad. Where we outperform our competitors is in quality," he said. The company is ranked among the top three press makers worldwide.

Jier is steadily expanding its footprint in South America, India and Russia but Zhang said there is no need to rush.

"The machine tool industry represents a country's core manufacturing competence. Expanding at too fast a speed is likely to water down the company's core competence," he said.

Mistakes aren’t always bad, Hilchey says

Stephen Hilchey has some words of advice for students about to graduate university, words he has lived by in the eight years since he left Dalhousie University with a Bachelor of Commerce degree.

The Manager of Business Development at Advanced Precision Machining and Fabrication in Dartmouth’s Burnside Park says succeeding is “all about pushing yourself, getting outside your comfort zone, speaking to people in companies that interest you, networking, and – above all – don’t be afraid to make mistakes.”

Hilchey came to Advanced Precision in his third work term at Dal and was given immediate responsibility. He liked the work and what the company was doing. They liked what he contributed and brought him on board after graduation.

“I was in an accounting firm in my first work term and immediately knew I didn’t want to do that as a career,” he reflects. “I gravitated to marketing and knew that was a better fit for my personality. Advanced Precision had a new focus on marketing when I arrived, from just seeking local business to making international contacts. They needed a young man who didn’t need an existing blueprint to make it happen and I was glad they chose me as the guy.”

Advanced Precision is a fully-integrated manufacturing facility that provides solutions to various industries across North America, providing aerospace, military, oceanography, oil and gas and environmentally sustainable products.

Today, the company that re-organized in 2000 under new owner John Fitzpatrick, has had a growth spurt that,Industrial Laser engraver are used to cut flat-sheet material as well as structural and piping materials. since 2005, has seen an increase in staff from 40 to 85 employees.

Hilchey confesses he knew nothing about engineering when he started, but was committed to immersing himself and learning as much as he could.

“I need to know the technical side of our business so I can better understand our customers and give them a feeling of confidence in us,” Hilchey says.

Hilchey’s main role is to find new customers through market research and finding companies that use precision engineered components that Advanced Precision can manufacture.

Being outgoing, Hilchey doesn’t mind “cold-calling.Learn about GE's onshore and offshore wind turbines, wind power generators systems and wind energy technology.” He recently completed an intensive two-year program at Sandler Sales Training where he perfected a sales system for prospecting for new clients,Newer laser cutting machine operating at higher power are approaching plasma machines in their ability to cut through thick materials, managing the sales process and uncovering new opportunities. That’s resulted in increased international business for the company.

“In my experience, the phone is still one of the best tools available for opening new doors,” he says, in addition to attending conferences and trade shows. “I typically start a short conversation at the upper levels of an organization and try to get a better understanding of what’s going on in their world and to see if they have concerns in their supply chain.

“If so, we might mutually agree to move to the next step, to better understand each other’s business and see whether or not we can help. It’s all about asking good questions to identify a truly good fit for both sides.”

Born in Bridgewater and raised in Chester, Hilchey insists he will remain in his home province and continue to “prove Nova Scotia is a great place to do business.Innovation Industries has offered the highest quality of elevator push button to meet all your elevator fixture needs. I enjoy bringing work to Nova Scotia that might never have found its way here. That’s exciting. Pop-up city

THERE'S a lot about the recovery of Christchurch that can be understood by standing in front of an old coin-operated washing machine on an empty gravel site near the city's cordoned-off Red Zone.

Beside the machine is a cheap plywood platform with tall yellow speakers and lights on each corner and a glitter ball strung in the middle. Put $2 in the slot, lift the lid, plug an MP3 player into the jack snaking out of the bowl and suddenly the wasteland is an open-air club, the music is pumping, passers-by are smiling and there is a reason to dance.

A stop-gap response to the loss of entertainment venues after the earthquake of September 2010 and its more devastating sequel on February 22 last year, Dance-o-Mat exemplifies the spirit of this razed city and its residents: practical, creative, fun, indomitable. Dance, the old top-loader seems to urge us, and the good times will surely come.

I stumble on Dance-o-Mat by chance, a week before Prince Charles and Camilla plant their royal slippers on its floor, vaulting this brilliantly simple cross between art installation and collective therapy into the headlines. It's one of a viral rash of witty, inspiring and ephemeral expressions of community solidarity and human ingenuity popping up in the city and suburbs.

No libraries? Someone has dragged on old fridge to a street corner and filled it with books for exchange.Divine Footwear in Miami has the latest wholesale fashion shoes  including heels, No cinemas? A couple of engineers created a cycle-in, pedal-powered cinema on the site of a former bike shop. There are "gap golf" greens between building sites and poetry appearing on office walls. From my fifth-floor room in the newly reopened Ibis Christchurch, I look across the road to Football in the Gap,Newer laser cutting machine operating at higher power are approaching plasma machines in their ability to cut through thick materials, on a thick slab of fake grass atop a levelled demolition site, and beyond to the Lego-like Re:START shopping mall fashioned from shipping containers.

Many of these ideas have been nurtured by an urban regeneration initiative called Gap Filler. "Rebuilding a city is a big deal," says Gap Filler co-founder and creative director Coralie Winn. "We thought temporary activity on vacant private land could be a way to experiment, learn and connect ordinary people like us to the rebuild,Industrial Laser engraver are used to cut flat-sheet material as well as structural and piping materials. rather than just waiting for the professionals to do it. It's about filling needs, filling gaps and rebuilding community spirit. A lot of people need reasons to stay."

Every project is a one-off experiment, though the scale and timeframe of Gap Filler's latest is "totally insane", says Winn cheerfully. I join her and a group of volunteer builders, architects, tradies and travellers on a chilly Saturday morning at a vacant block once occupied by the Crowne Plaza Hotel. Everyone is wearing the Christchurch uniform - hard hat and orange "hi-vi" vest - and working at a feverish pace. Winn and three shifts of volunteers a day, every day until 10pm, have a month to build a Summer Pallet Pavilion, a temporary amphitheatre created from 2313 borrowed wooden pallets.

I roll up my sleeves with Kirsten O'Connor, a volunteer landscape architect, and we repot day lilies, destined for a living wall in the pavilion. Travellers are encouraged to register on Gap Filler's website, and there is perhaps no more rewarding way to spend a few hours than working alongside local volunteers, many of whom are young professionals who have returned to live here and to rebuild. Tim, an architect busy drilling holes in pallets,Innovation Industries has offered the highest quality of elevator push button to meet all your elevator fixture needs. is one of them. "It's not always easy living here, but it was the right time to move back," he says during a tea break. "We're all starting from scratch, so things are possible here that aren't possible in any other urban environment I can think of.Learn about GE's onshore and offshore wind turbines, wind power generators systems and wind energy technology."

Looking for that unique Christmas gift? Think water!

Give yourself or help someone get from $100 to $2,000 for saving water. Many local organizations offer rebates for residents and businesses in the Sierra Vista Subwatershed (the U.S.Newer laser cutting machine operating at higher power are approaching plasma machines in their ability to cut through thick materials, area bordered by the Mule Mountains and Huachuca Mountains south of State Highway 82) to help pay for materials and labor for saving water and electricity.

For residents, toilet rebates are offered by Sierra Vista and Cochise County. The Cochise Water Project offers rebates for rainwater collection systems, hot-water pumps (give the gift of immediate hot water), artificial turf, landscape conversion and more.

For home sellers, the Southeast Arizona Association of Realtors with the Upper San Pedro Partnership offers rebates to help owners sell an older home by updating bathrooms.

For home buyers, the Realtors’ program offers a free irrigation inspection. This visit by a qualified irrigation inspector will help demystify the system, the timer and check for leaks.

For commercial property owners, the Upper San Pedro Partnership offers easy grants to upgrade toilets and washing machines, replace landscapes, fix irrigation systems, install rainwater systems and more.

Lend a hand to harvest graywater. Was your house or a friend’s house built after 2006? Subwatershed homes built outside city limits and in Bisbee after 2006 are required to have graywater drainpipes. Graywater is waste water from bathroom sinks, showers and baths. Teen Boy Detained for Burglary

A total of 6 of the stolen iPads from the NBISD's 9th Grade Center have been recovered, and a 14-year old New Braunfels boy has been detained, after multiple tips and an ongoing investigation led officers to that stolen property late last night.

New Braunfels Police officials say that numerous tips from the public and their own investigation led them to the banks of the Guadalupe River off of Comanche Street just before dark last night, and, with the help of the New Braunfels Fire Department Dive Team, they were able to recover 6 of the 37 stolen iPads from the 9th Grade Center, which was burglarized this past Sunday night.

Those dive teams returned to that area again at first light this morning to make sure no iPads were missed, and no additional stolen property was found.

But they were able to take a 14-year old New Braunfels boy into custody and charged him with burglary of a building,Newer laser cutting machine operating at higher power are approaching plasma machines in their ability to cut through thick materials, which is a state jail felony. He was then taken and held at the Guadalupe County Juvenile Detention Center.

Meanwhile, the search continues for the remaining iPads and other stolen computer equipment. A total of 31 iPads remain unaccounted for, and police are asking parents, students, and anyone in the community to come forward now if you think you have one of these stolen devices.

They say that if you are found with one of those iPads, you could face arrest and possible criminal charges, but if you come forward now and turn over the device, you will likely avoid those consequences.

Each of the stolen iPads is engraved on the back with "Property of the NBISD," a serial number, and instructions on where to return the device if found. That laser-engraving is on the back of the actual device, not on the hard case that the iPads are in, so be sure to take the device out to check for those markings.

A storage unit containing construction tools was broken into over this time period and approximately $20,Innovation Industries has offered the highest quality of elevator push button to meet all your elevator fixture needs.000 worth of electrical tools and building items were taken. Other items were found on the site in preparation for removal.

The school buildings were also broken into and four Apple laptop computers were taken. These laptops have a total replacement value of $6,000.

The 158 pupils that attend the school use these computers to complete their work. The four laptops taken were removed from the one classroom. They contained saved student work.

Officer in charge of Marton Police Station, Sergeant Peter Wood said: "While no personal information is held on these machines and they are replaceable, the children's work files held on them cannot be replaced."

The building project has been slowed until replacement work equipment is obtained.

"Some of the stolen property has been recovered at a Marton address and a 40 year-old male and a 36 year-old female have been charged with burglary," said Sergeant Wood.Industrial Laser engraver are used to cut flat-sheet material as well as structural and piping materials.
